We’ll enter in as the wedding bells ring
Your bride will come together and we’ll sing
You’re beautiful

What started off as a classic Scottish rainy morning turned into a beautiful, perfect day for a wedding. And if I recorded the rest of the day like I did the last sentence I’d be here for three days trying to describe the beauty of Faith & James’ day… so I’ll just name some of my highlights.
– love songs & worship music floating through the house as the girls were getting ready
– the absolute cuteness and joy that Abi & Lydia (the flower girls) brought to EVERY part of the day
– the beautiful dresses & hats of the ladies attending the wedding (America, take some hints)
– and while we’re at it…. the kilts
– incredible music during the ceremony by the bride & groom’s family and close friends. Goosebumps.
– seeing the joy and unity of two families coming together
– guest photos with the bride and groom! In Scotland, it’s just what they do, and it was actually a blast. And some of my favorite photos came from that time!
– one party of a reception. I mean like…nine hours. America keep taking notes because this is the clincher.
– dancing… a lot of dancing. And not jumping-like a-crazy-person-to-T-Swiz dancing…real, fun actual dancing. Haha.
– may I just take a moment for the food? I think I counted four meals. Complete with tea, and haggis, and an incredible dessert layout created by the bride herself. Oh, you wish you were there.
– musical pieces performed by guests and family interspersed with the dancing during the reception, my personal fave being a medley for Faith’s parents who celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary that day! (fun fact, they also got married where the reception was held!)
– the speeches, oh man, the United States is a glorious nation but really we are lacking in our wedding traditions. Let’s add to the list hilarious, roast-filled speeches that lasted at least 10 minutes each and had everyone rolling in laughter.
– the reception ending on Auld Lang Syne and Loch Lomond. I mean COME ON.
All in all it was such a meaningful, Christ-centered day. I was quite emotional myself as Faith and her family are dear friends and I felt like it was my sister getting married. My heart is so full for Faith & James, and full with memories of good times and the beauty of seeing Jesus exalted by a community coming together to celebrate one of His most stunning creations: marriage.
Alright, enough words. Enjoy these snapshots of August 13, the wedding day of Faith & James Hutchinson.
I may have been a little obsessive in how many photos I chose to post. Sorry but not really! And a HUGE shoutout to my sister for second shooting for me – she did an incredible job!
I’ll guess I’ll never know the reason why
You love me like you do
That’s the wonder
The wonder of you

I see Your face in every sunrise
The colors of the morning are inside Your eyes
The world awakens in the light of the day
I look up to the sky and say
You’re beautiful
I see Your power in the moonlit night
Where planets are in motion and galaxies are bright
We are amazed in the light of the stars
It’s all proclaiming who You are
You’re beautiful
I see You there hanging on a tree
You bled and then you died and then you rose again for me
Now You are sitting on Your heavenly throne
Soon we will be coming home
You’re beautiful
When we arrive at eternity’s shore
Where death is just a memory and tears are no more
We’ll enter in as the wedding bells ring
Your bride will come together and we’ll sing
You’re beautiful
