James + Faith | Exquisite Scotland Wedding

We’ll enter in as the wedding bells ring

Your bride will come together and we’ll sing

You’re beautiful

|| You’re Beautiful – Phil Wickham ||

What started off as a classic Scottish rainy morning turned into a beautiful, perfect day for a wedding. And if I recorded the rest of the day like I did the last sentence I’d be here for three days trying to describe the beauty of Faith & James’ day… so I’ll just name some of my highlights.

– love songs & worship music floating through the house as the girls were getting ready

– the absolute cuteness and joy that Abi & Lydia (the flower girls) brought to EVERY part of the day

– the beautiful dresses & hats of the ladies attending the wedding (America, take some hints)

– and while we’re at it…. the kilts

– incredible music during the ceremony by the bride & groom’s family and close friends. Goosebumps.

– seeing the joy and unity of two families coming together

– guest photos with the bride and groom! In Scotland, it’s just what they do, and it was actually a blast. And some of my favorite photos came from that time!

– one party of a reception. I mean like…nine hours. America keep taking notes because this is the clincher.

– dancing… a lot of dancing. And not jumping-like a-crazy-person-to-T-Swiz dancing…real, fun actual dancing. Haha.

– may I just take a moment for the food? I think I counted four meals. Complete with tea, and haggis, and an incredible dessert layout created by the bride herself. Oh, you wish you were there.

– musical pieces performed by guests and family interspersed with the dancing during the reception, my personal fave being a medley for Faith’s parents who celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary that day! (fun fact, they also got married where the reception was held!)

– the speeches, oh man, the United States is a glorious nation but really we are lacking in our wedding traditions. Let’s add to the list hilarious, roast-filled speeches that lasted at least 10 minutes each and had everyone rolling in laughter.

– the reception ending on Auld Lang Syne and Loch Lomond. I mean COME ON.

All in all it was such a meaningful, Christ-centered day. I was quite emotional myself as Faith and her family are dear friends and I felt like it was my sister getting married. My heart is so full for Faith & James, and full with memories of good times and the beauty of seeing Jesus exalted by a community coming together to celebrate one of His most stunning creations: marriage.

Alright, enough words. Enjoy these snapshots of August 13, the wedding day of Faith & James Hutchinson.

I may have been a little obsessive in how many photos I chose to post. Sorry but not really! And a HUGE shoutout to my sister for second shooting for me – she did an incredible job!

And you’re always there to lend a hand

In everything I do

That’s the wonder

The wonder of you

And when you smile the world is brighter

You touch my hand and I’m a king

Your kiss to me is worth a fortune

Your love for me is everything

I’ll guess I’ll never know the reason why

You love me like you do

That’s the wonder

The wonder of you

I see Your face in every sunrise

The colors of the morning are inside Your eyes

The world awakens in the light of the day

I look up to the sky and say

You’re beautiful

I see Your power in the moonlit night

Where planets are in motion and galaxies are bright

We are amazed in the light of the stars

It’s all proclaiming who You are

You’re beautiful

I see You there hanging on a tree

You bled and then you died and then you rose again for me

Now You are sitting on Your heavenly throne

Soon we will be coming home

You’re beautiful

When we arrive at eternity’s shore

Where death is just a memory and tears are no more

We’ll enter in as the wedding bells ring

Your bride will come together and we’ll sing

You’re beautiful

Classy Farmhouse Wedding in Elverson, Pennsylvania

It has been a crazy several months full of travel and weddings, and Peter + Michelle’s beautiful Pennsylvania wedding was the best way to finish the busy summer off. I know both the bride and groom from Bible school, and have been blessed by their testimony of genuine, joyful love for Christ that has spilled over to each other and everyone else in their lives. Their vision as a couple is inspiring and convicting as they’re spending the first months of their marriage volunteering as teachers at a Christian academy in Honey Brook. I am super excited to see how God continues to lead them and use them for the advancement of His kingdom.

Huge thank you to Natalie Swansen for second shooting for me and capturing some quality photos!

The girls got ready at Michelle’s house – a beautiful cottage in Honey Brook. Literally everything about this house is picturesque and I could do an entire blog post on it!

Shooting details in natural light = literally one of my favorite things ever.

They had their first look out in the woods behind Michelle’s house, tucked behind big trees alongside a stream.

The ceremony was worshipful and joyful…

After the ceremony, the forecast called for rain but God was gracious to provide us with perfect clouds for photos! In love with these!

Leandra + Ethan | Charming Wildflower Wedding

It’s such a special day when a dear friend marries the love of her life.

What a perfect, worshipful day full of sunshine and laughter.

A few of my favorite things about the day…

– the worship music during the ceremony. Absolutely stunning, and performed by several of Ethan and Leandra’s dear friends. Totally set the tone for a meaningful ceremony.

– Leandra’s dress! …and it was handmade. What!?

– The flowers. Also done by the bride herself and her little cohort of girls. Incredible talent.

– The first look.

– Beautiful morning sunlight for photos. Doesn’t get any better than that.

– The first dance. Scroll down and you’ll know what I mean.

Military Wedding in Northern Colorado

I must say this was one of the most joyful, worshipful, Christ-focused and others-focused weddings I’ve ever witnessed. Even after 14 hours of shooting I felt energized and refreshed by their love and the environment of the day…a perfect sunset ended the festivities and everyone went home with a full heart.

THANK YOU Josh and Angie for letting me be part of your wedding and for allowing Christ to shine through in such an evident way. Love you guys!

Mark + Ruth | Meaningful Kansas City Wedding

Wow, you guys… I am so excited to be sharing these photos with you! I had the privilege of traveling to Kansas City to shoot a wedding last weekend and wow, did it exceed every expectation in beauty, godliness and fun! Mark and Ruth, and their families, are some of the most loving, outward-focused people I’ve ever met and I was refreshed, not exhausted (amazing after a 15 hour wedding day;) by their wedding.

Mark and Ruth’s story is unique and very clearly orchestrated by God…Mark had been married for almost 9 years to a wonderful woman of God during with God blessed them with three beautiful little girls. God chose to take his wife, Rachel, home to Himself after a long battle with cancer. God then brought Ruth into Mark’s life, and in Mark’s words, “I am continually amazed at how God chooses not to answer prayers (like mine to never get married again) and pours out His abundant blessings and goodness over me and my girls through Ruth. I have been called of God to lay down my life to serve and love Ruth in this life as my wife and to lead her in the Lord to walk faithfully with her God and mine and to reflect the majesty and glory of Christ and His Bride in this world with her.”

Mark + Ruth, may your love continue to grow for each other, for God, and for those around you…congratulations! And may God richly bless your life together with your three little ladies!
